Lost Treasure
Tales of lost and found treasures have intrigued explorers to search Florida
beaches for years. But of these explorers, the richest are also the wisest.
For they know that no matter what amount of treasure they may stumble
upon, the most valuable discovery lies within nature. Though treasures of
gold and gemstones may be lost, the natural treasure of paradise is found
among the pure white sand beaches and the gold gleaming Florida sun at
our very own, Marco Island.
The Green Flash
"The colors are brighter than at ground level, and the clouds more majestic,
but when the sun finally skips below the horizon there is only a second of
dusk before a bright Green Flash lights up the sky."
It mesmerizes and intrigues. Stirs curiosity. Inspires stories. Above all, it
proves that paradise exists right here, within nature. Take a stroll along our
3 miles of white sand beach, and just before the sun dips into the water,
look carefully—you just may be lucky enough to witness the absolutely
breathtaking work of nature, the Green Flash.
Calusa Indians
Marco Island’s first settlers, the Calusa Indians found value in every bit of
their natural surroundings. Deer antlers became pins and arrow points.
And shells of the island became many things, from high ground protection
against nature’s forces to sacred platforms and entire homes. Such
appreciation for nature is the very ideal upon which Marco Island Beach
Resort is based. Three miles of white sand beach, the shimmering ocean
and the incredible, abundant shells are the components of a true and
natural island paradise.
